Arts and Crafts Show Photos from September 22, 2007

September 25th, 2007

Here are my photos from my arts and crafts show on September 22. I was indoors, in an approximate 8 x 10 space, and utilized the walk-in style of arrangement. I was seated in the left hand corner (as you faced my booth) where I worked on crocheting while I was there and was readily accessible to answer questions and demonstrate my items as soon as people walked into my booth. I brought three tables, each with a different product line, and two chrome racks from which to hang my shawls, wraps and ponchos, plus display some additional hats and scarves.

Unfortunately the show had too few buyers and low attendance. Depending on how they improve for next year, I may or may not attend again. Very nice people, well organized, nice diversity of arts and crafts. Very easy setup. On these points I was extremely pleased, however, poor attendance & poor buying were not what I expected from this upscale North Jersey neighborhood. I think their advertising needs to be more aggressive and expanded.

Career Decision & Expanding My Business

September 25th, 2007

I have decided, after a very long period of thought as to what would be most beneficial for both the further expansion of my business and for me both creatively and do-able, to pursue education and certification as a wedding / bridal consultant and party planner.

Why? It makes sense, to me at least, since my product lines revolve around medium and high end handcrafted jewelry, personalized baby gifts, and medium to higher end handcrafted wedding jewelry, to become educated in and much more proficient in offering these complimentary services, so that I can offer not only the best in handcrafted items but also professional, knowledgeable and high quality services to those who wish to host an event ~ be in a baby shower, bridal shower, wedding, family event, or corporate event.

Many of my gifts are also suitable as corporate gifts for employees, and discounts are given when a company orders “X” amount of items for their employees for Christmas or Holiday gift giving.

Therefore to me it makes perfect sense and is the perfect compliment to not only offer the products but the services as well.

Since I have made it a professional practice to never offer anything but the best quality of handcrafted items and never do anything halfway, I’m very quite excited about going down this path in life and look forward to becoming a professional and certified provider of these event planning services!
