Now that the Thanksgiving Holiday, visiting, company and the resulting insanity of the following days has been assuaged, I can get back to my blog. Felt like I was missing an old friend or something.
Thanksgiving was nice, visited with my sister and her son, ate good food, laughed, talked, walked, eyeballed her neighbors Christmas decorating that was going up after everyone’s dinner. Long drive there, even longer drive home in some interesting weather ~ downpours of cold rain, sideways rain, hail. Just what you want to do after eating, drinking and becoming entirely too relaxed ~ take to very dark mountain roads with maniac’s who thought it was a dragstrip in the aforementioned inclement weather ~ and drive 50 miles back home.
Friday brought an in-studio visit from a customer who finished her Christmas shopping for her family at considerable cost (bad for her, good for me!) She walked away very pleased with all of her purchases. I smiled alot while counting the cash………
Saturday brought the beginnings of a technical project I’m doing for another client, and housecleaning. Badly needed, that was for sure. The technical project is still coming along, albeit hair raising and alternately hair pulling…….
Sunday brought me to another client for a photo shoot of no less than 25 assorted collectibles and antiques that I will sell for her on my website for a reasonable commission. I photographed, we inventoried, the pieces went back into their boxes and back onto their shelves. Long day. Came home to a flock of happy birds happy to see their Mom, and one displeased iguana who said how dare I stay away that long????? She can’t talk verbally but boy those lovely amber eyes speak volumes.
Monday brought me back to the technical project and last minute inventorying for a jewelry show at an executive luncheon ~ both exercises of which caused considerable stress and upset. Bleh. It was MONDAY.
Tuesday was the executive luncheon at a local banquet hall. Lots of execs, none of them spending any money anywhere. Most vendors went home tired, with the same stock they originally carted in, and in the red for booth costs which were NOT cheap. NOT FOR ME.
Today ~ I’m back in the proverbial saddle. Back to the project with my client. Cleaned out my computer in a BIG way of unneeded software. Back to yet another business re-organization with the evaluations made and decisions decided about what worked this year and what didn’t. Plan F, I think we’re on now. Who cares, as long as one of these plans works better than the others!!!
