Fancy Jasper Gemstone Necklace Set
July 3rd, 2008If you’ve been reading my blog long enough you know I’m a huge fan of fancy jasper gemstones. They are opaque, softly colored, natural earth toned gemstones with a kaleidoscope of color sometimes swirling through them or they can just be arranged in a beautiful color arrangement that can just take your breath away if you are a fan of soft, muted woodland colors.
I am. Every time I am privileged to work with these gemstones I’m transported back to my old hiking and rock climbing haunt, the Ramapo Mountains on the New Jersey/New York border. Roaming around up there in the autumn afforded me the best opportunity to see colors such as fancy jasper gemstones display. Muted blues of juniper berries, muted pinks and mauves of fading leaves, a multitude of soft greens, creams and golds, very soft, of other muted autumn foliage. Pale lavender shades dispersed in between………. all that remains of a good and prolific season of mountain foliage and berries making ready for their seasonal sleep before being born anew in the spring.
