August Birthstone Jewelry ~ Peridot

Genuine gemstone peridot (which is the gem version of the mineral Olivine) is mined from an ancient source of Zagbargad Island in the Red Sea off the coast of Egypt; Mogok, Myanmar (Burma); Kohistan, Pakistan; Minas Gerais, Brazil; Eifel, Germany; Chihuahua, Mexico; Ethiopia; Australia; San Carlos Apache Reservation, Gila County, Arizona and Salt Lake Crater, Oahu, Hawaii, USA.
It can be rather expensive, even in the basic bead form by which jewelry artisans create peridot jewelry. Fortunately, the centuries renowned glass making sources in old Bohemia, now the Czech Republic, and the Austrian crystal manufacturer Swarovski have made it possible for everyone to have affordable, stunning peridot glass and crystal jewelry and for the jewelry artisans who create this lovely jewelry to have the affordability and flexibility of color, shape and cut at their disposal.
