I’ve been SO busy with other projects ~ had no time to blog until I was somewhat caught up. But then are we ever caught up, us webmasters and webmistresses? I don’t think so. Since a website is always evolving, in one form or another, I don’t think it’s even remotey possible to ever be “caught up” so I guess that’s why I feel I am somewhat caught up, for now, for a while, maybe…………… LOL!!! Listen to me just rambling on!

At any rate, I am opening up a designer sunglasses website, a designer lingerie website, a fashion handbags website, and a fragrance and cosmetics website which is without a doubt designer discount! Plus I’ve been tweaking my artisan designer website at Jewelry Collectibles!

My ladies textile fashions that I’ve crocheted are all sold out! Hats, scarves, ponchos, and mohair wraps! That’s the end of the line for them. I’m not replacing the stock, and will only be crocheting for me from now on! I’ve started a new crochet blog, devoted just to the art and fun of crochet, and simply showing works in progress and finished items ~ sort of a compliment to my Ravelry profile, which is in sore need of updating!! On Ravelry just look for Bohemian Hooker ~ that’s me!

I’ve also been super busy spiffing up my web design website ~ it was in need of a cleaning and polishing LOL ~ seriously it needed a long anticipated update so that took me the better part of the week last week getting it updated and exactly where I want it. I offer quite a few good services over there ~ website design, eBay store design, SEO, blog design, and more! I’ve been in the business 8 years and have a proven record of excellent SEO and marketing results.

On my US website Jewelry Collectibles I installed an RSS feed mod to the shopping cart today so when I add new items to the website, you can subscribe to them either in an RSS reader or through an email subscription ~ it’s pretty neat because word gets out of my new products very quickly this way! Go check it out, it’s so cool!

This is a little bit, no, alot off track of my usual product promotion related sort of posting. Or my every occasional kid posting (well, my pets ARE my kids and get treated like darling little kids!). Or my creative musing sort of posting which I have not done in quite a long time.

I was kind of looking around to see what, if anything, I could streamline a bit more for my business, besides cleaning off the kitchen table so it could actually be used as a kitchen table instead of the creative center of my universe. Which incidentally I did tonight anyway. There is a very neat small pile of unfinished crocheting to be done sitting patiently at one corner of the table. THAT’S IT. Everything else has been put away.

But I digress. Streamlining. That’s where I was. OK. So I decided this morning, not out of the blue, as it’s been on my mind for a while, to cancel my merchant account. It’s been bugging me for a very long time since my particular bank was dead set on charging me two different rates, one for the online sales and one for the machine that sits on my kitchen counter for phone in sales of which I get a fair amount. Hence I had to have two different merchant accounts, two different rates, and during the month of December they jacked the monthly fee up double which absolutely killed me. How absurd.

So, I called them and cancelled both accounts. I use Google checkout on my website, and then I set up PayPal too as a gateway as well. The fees are actually less than the merchant accounts. I applied for and was approved for a PayPal Virtual Terminal Account, so my phone in sales will be taken care of.

It’s not an earthshaking event, but it made me feel good to not just toy with the idea of change, but to actually put the wheels in motion.
